You would think after years of blending in your Lavender would never show. Then one day, unexpectedly, that color bubbles up from your twisted insides and displays itself as a grotesque display of brightly colored blisters. Wrapped around your ribs for everyone to see. You can wear something to cover up, but it doesn't change the burning sensation from beneath the fabric. It is what you have always been afraid of and you can't unsee that radiant color. Eventually, the pustule will crust up and fade yet the dull scar will remain for some time. Will society ever accept this beautiful deformity? Or does this new shade make you see society as the deformity? What lengths will you go to suppress what is boiling inside you? What twisted visions of future governance will help keep that in check?
